I'm a long time user of hard anodized Calphalon, having received my first set (the equivalent to this one) in 1990. I too love this cookware. I use it on a gas stove but have also used it on electric (celanoid units). After hard use (I have raised my family, taught my girls to cook with this set AND my husband does the dishes) I am slowly replacing a few of my more worn pieces.

Amazon offers occasional great deals on this quality cookware in open stock, as well. Lids have been interchangeable on the saute pans in the past. Follow cooking directions (heat first, no cooking spray, dont' check too often while browning/searing) and cleaning directions (soak briefly first, watch your scrubbing and don't use the dishwasher) and you too will have great success with the commercial Calphalon line.

Hated the dirty pan look December 30, 2007

I love to cook and thought I'd love these pans ... I did not. They cooked ok but ran a little too hot with my gas range for my taste. But I'm returning them due to the 'dirty pan look'. After cooking bacon in the pan and washing it - it still looked dirty. I washed it again and same issue. I tried coating the pan first with oil and same thing happened. I'm not interested in having to scrub my pans with scouring powder after normal use. I'm going to try another type.

I really love these. After years of using an old Revereware set given to me by an aunt I finally burned up a pot cooking rice. After two weeks of struggling to clean the thing I threw it out and decided it was time for me to buy some modern cookware. I did burn the first few things I made in these as they cook well with very little heat, but I had no problems cleaning the pots/pans later. After the first couple times I figured it out. I like the fact I can use very little oil, low heat and that the heat is evenly distributed. And they can go in the oven--so cool! My only complaint is that the lids in the set don't fit on the pans and the casserole handles can get hot just cooking on the stove. Can't wait to add to this set.
