5 out of 5 stars Great for Both Quality and Cost!   June 5, 2008
This is the best hand mixer ever! I am very limited on counter and storage space in my kitchen, and this is perfect little appliance that can be stored just about anywhere. I had been using a Kitchen Aid hand mixer, but it was only a 5-speed. Just didn't seem to have enough power for cookie dough, whipping potatoes, etc. Initially I had considered buying an Artisan Stand Mixer, but with the kind of cooking/baking that I do, a 9-speed hand mixer does the trick! Really didn't need to invest in a stand mixer that would not only take up an acre of my kitchen counter, but would also cost a bundle! And with a $10.00 rebate, you cannot beat this mixer for both cost and quality!

5 out of 5 stars Kitchenaid 9 speed mixer   June 2, 2008
I ordered this hand held mixer in lieu of one of Kitchenaids big mixers and it turns out I was right to do so. The mixer is rather powerful and can churn through heavy doughs quite well. The best part is that its relatively compact and is much more versatile than the big mixer without spending hundreds of dollars. Perhaps when I'm making really large recipes, the big mixer would be better, but for now the hand held is awesome and I am very happy with it. As far as durability goes, well time will tell, but for now its working flawlessly.

5 out of 5 stars Extremley Quiet for a professional mixer   May 29, 2008
Wow this is mixer is super quiet, in fact had to check to see if it was still mixing. Small in size but still does a professional job at mixing. Powerful motor yet lightweight. Like someone mentioned, great alternative to a stand mixer!

5 out of 5 stars Great Alternative to Stand Mixer   May 19, 2008

I have a Kitchen Aid stand mixer and after using both products I suggest this hand mixer for almost anyone. Unless you do serious baking or bread making, a stand mixer is a bit like using a mallet when a hammer would do. Stand mixers take up a lot of space. They are also extremely heavy and hard to clean. The beaters and other attachments are not meant for the dishwasher. With this hand mixer you have all the convenience and most of the power of a traditional stand mixer.

This mixer has 9 speed options, and has sufficient power to handle even thick batters. With the lowest setting you can gently mix powdery batters without creating a mess. The highest speeds make whipping egg whites or cream a breeze. In between you will find speeds to mix just about whatever you need. The beaters are designed with no inside wire so there is no stuck mess. They can even be put in the dishwasher for cleaning.

The mixer is fairly light at about 4 pounds. It does get a little tiresome after several minutes, but nothing much to complain about if you don't have arthritis or other problems.

I will keep using this mixer for everyday cooking and baking. Even though you can buy bread hook attachments, I will stick to my stand mixer for bread making.

5 out of 5 stars Better than a stand mixer for limited space in a kitchen   May 8, 2008
Originally purchased a new KitchenAid stand mixture. It was too big to keep out on my counter and too heavy to lift in and out of a cabinet. So...I returned it, purchased the most powerful hand mixer available and am really pleased. (Looked at several brands but KitchenAid had features I wanted without being too heavy). Even egg whites didn't take so long that I got tired (or bored) while whipping them up.
