5 out of 5 stars Good tool, well made, highly recommended   May 17, 2008

I've owned this pressure cooker for a year, and I really enjoy it. It saves time. It saves energy. And it enables me to cook meals that I otherwise would not.

It does cook fast, so you need to use a timer and pay attention. If you do, you'll have pleasant experiences.

Buy a few cook books, especially the Presto book. Other recipes can be found by internet searches. It's good to use recipes specifically tailored for pressure cookers. Using other recipes will likely require a process of trial and error.

One time, the lid stuck on the kettle. This problem was solved by putting some vegetable oil on the gasket. Gaskets need to be replaced every year or two. I've seen them at hardware stores, and Amazon sells them too.

5 out of 5 stars Great service   May 12, 2008
I was very pleased with this product. The whole ordering process was very easy and efficient. I received the product within a few days. Thanks for the great service!!!

5 out of 5 stars almost as good as grama's   May 9, 2008

Grama had an aluminum one that I inherited and used for many years. Can no longer find the rubber rings so bought this Presto. I was skeptical, thinking no way could it compare. It seemed so light weight. But it's wonderful. Lid is tricky to latch, but overall it is a great purchase. I would recommend to anyone looking for a modern-day pressure cooker. Well worth the price.

5 out of 5 stars Love it!   April 29, 2008

I love this pressure cooker, it cooks fast and it's very safe to use. And it's a good size if you like to cook stews. And it has a recipe booklet to give you ideas. I would highly recommend this product.

5 out of 5 stars very useful   April 26, 2008

I used this pressure cooker twice in the first week I got it. The very first time was THE DAY I got it. It is quality! It breaks down an entire chicken in twenty minutes with such flavor. I used the breast of turkey recipe in the book that came with it and it was done to completion very quickly also. All of the other dishes for my March Thanksgiving meal were still cooking long after that turkey breast was done. I'll start the turkey last next time.
To think of the saved energy of a low setting on the top of the stove for twenty minutes compared to the couple hours of roasting in the oven. To me that's great, considering energy costs are on the rise.
The last one I had was smaller and the lid eventually fell apart (differant brand). I can tell this one is going to be around for a long time.
I like that I'll be able to do a little bit of pressure canning in this bigger one too. I couldn't in my old one. Water bath canning was what I was limited to before and have wanted to pressure can small jars of produce that needed to be, but one of those huge pressure canners, my mom used, is just too big for my needs.
I'm considering buying another for a friend who's wedding is coming up soon. If you want flavorful, home-cooked food, fast this has far better flavor and texture than something a microwave could do. Thanks so much.
