great but blade broke March 19, 2008
I love this food processor. In the past I had two different Cuisinart models, and the bowls and lids would invariably crack and need to be replaced. Also, the feed tubes were difficult to clean. I would call repeatedly to Cuisinart for help, but no one answered for months! So the Kitchenaid is a vast improvement, with the feed tube easier to clean, and the bowl feels more substantial. It took a while to become accustomed to the blade's not stopping immediately, but that is minor. I like having the mini-bowl; it's like having two processors in one. I can make a crumb topping first and then the coffee cake below. My one complaint is that the top circle covering on the plastic dough blade has broken off with just normal use, which is disappointing. Now the ingredients fall through the holes on the stem of the blade, since there is no covering. The machine is 1 1/2 years old. The company says to buy a new blade....

Great buy. What a bargain. I love this machine and use it daily. I especially like the small bowl for things that do not require the big one.

A great product, easy to use, and it simply works. I find I use the small bowl more often than not as there are only two of us in this house, especially to make hummus and some sauces. The only thing I do not like is the way it does onions no matter what blade is used - so I continue to do them with a knife - which is for me faster than the processor. That said, for soups I throw the onions in with the rest of the veggies and they turn out just fine when the soup is finished.
I ordered the black model at a $70 saving over a more "color correct" processor - it is the same machine with all the attachments - just black -big deal! The actual height of the processor is 16 1/2 inches, not what Amazon says - 21 1/2 inches, and it fits under the kitchen cabinets. Even if it did not I would have turned the top upside down as the savings is so great.
A wonderful machine and really quiet compared to an older Cuisinart I had years ago.

So far we've been extremely pleased with all aspects of this food processor. It is a large unit, so you need a good spot for it on your counter (or extra cabinet space of course). We were especially impressed with the small details that showed a lot of thought and creativity. I would definitely recommend this product!

The not-too-old Black & Decker food processor broke and needed replacing. Its demise did not lend itself to another Black & Decker. After much product and price comparing, it was decided to just accept Comsumer Report's number one recommendation, the KitchenAid KFP7500B. After all, they did a complete study of food processors. The result was well pleasing to this consumer. Amazon.com made it sweet by offering a drop-dead deal in cost and free delivery. The KitchenAid KFP7500B is quiet, swift and efficient - and is attractive to boot.
