KitchenAid Artisan 5-Quart Stand Mixers

-----> This may help some of you - I read a review somewhere in which the reviewer gave this mixer a poor rating because it left dry ingredients in the bottom of the bowl - read the instruction booklet, people. It clearly states that if this occurs (or if the attachments scrape the bowl), there is an adjustment screw that raises or lowers the mixing assembly. I had to slightly lower mine and it now incorporates everything into the mix.

This KitchenAid mixer is an excellent investment! I just love mine! The dough hook attachment is the greatest invention ever. No more kneading! I just used this wonderful machine to make 4 pounds of Pizza Geina dough without breaking a sweat. Add your ingredients, turn it on and it does the rest! It has a very powerful motor and every part of this mixer is excellent quality and well made. It is simple to lock in the mixing bowl and it is also a breeze to clean. The different attachments are very easy to attach and remove. It would be impossible not to love it!

I love this mixer! After seeing the kitchen aid on so many cooking shows, I thought it was about time to get my own. Got one for my birthday and I've used it almost every weekend. Made mashed potatoes with it and they were absolutely delicious! That is if you like smooth whipped potatoes. Made my meringue wonderfully for my pineapple pie. Can't say enough about this mixer!

After years of hearing how necessary a stand mixer is we took the plunge. Our hand mixer of many years was defeated by some thick cookie dough.

The 5 quart bowl seems a bit small ( we have double convection ovens so double cookie batches are the norm) and, with cookie and cake dough, there seems to be a dry residue at the bottom of the bowl. It is inconvenient to stop and scrape over and over.

Yesterday we used it to start pizza dough....that was terrific.

This mixer is a good bread dough device but a good hand mixer is still preferred for many batters.

Of course, everyone we know raves about the mixer....maybe we are missing something....or maybe they haven't used a hand mixer!

Update time. As time has passed we have come to love the mixer for everything. If you like to bake...you need this mixer!
