5 out of 5 stars A great mixer for the money   November 23, 2002

I've had no problems with this mixer. I originally bought it for bread-making (hand kneading takes too long unless you only make bread a couple of times per year). Since then, it has managed to pay for itself with just the time it has saved me. I look forward to someday getting some of the many attachments that are also available for the mixer (juicers, meat grinders, etc.)

I bought my mixer two and a half months ago and it up and died -- just seized without warning. Prior to that, I had used it about five times a week for about fifteen minutes a clip with no problem. It was glorious! True to their hassle-free replacement warranty, I called up and another one is on the way and they'll take this one back, no questions asked, all for free. If it wasn't for this kind of customer care, I'd probably worry.

5 out of 5 stars I love it!   November 17, 2002

I have the Red 5 quart mixer and I have to say tat I love this product! (I also love the way it accents my kitchen. It's a great buy or gift for anyone who enjoys cooking! (As long as you have the counter space...it's very heavy and difficult to move.)

4 out of 5 stars A Kitchen Helper   November 16, 2002

As a man, I started cooking after being married two weeks, and my kitchen aid 5 qt has been with me after 20 beautiful years of married life and cooking. Is a great help to now my daughters whom love to bake. We must use this machine to 5 times per week. Besides the required toaster/coffee pot/excellent quality knives, this is one item a cook needs in his/her kitchen. Have noticed after these twenty years am starting to notice oil dripping from housing, must be time to upgrade. I also own the slicing attachements, meat grinder, have no use for a food processor with these attachments. A must have.

5 out of 5 stars Great mixer   November 5, 2002

I bought the mixer for my wife for Mother's day. It's a great mixer for everday use and looks great on the countertop--a nice kitchen decoration!
My problem is with Kitchen Aid. When I got the mixer, KA was promoting a free attachment. I chose the slicer/shredder, sent in all the paperwork, and as of 11/5/02 (6 months after purchase), I have not received the attachment. What's more, I get a different story every time a call those people. First they tell me it's shipped, then not shipped, but will be arriving very soon, new people are handling the promotion, blah, blah, blah. Now they want me to provide the serial # and model #. Their claim is now that it was shipped months ago. Come on KA, just send me the darned attachment! Has anyone else had this problem?
