5 out of 5 stars Great gift for the grilling enthusiast   January 14, 2008
I had no idea what this was - but my boyfriend LOVES it. He is big into grilling, and apparently the Reveo is the new revolution for the hard core grillers. I have heard no complaints - only great food!

4 out of 5 stars reveo tumbeler   January 7, 2008

I love this thing, after my wife read me the directions, and I found out I was using it wrong, I realized how wonderful this thing works. Evidently you have to close the cap all the way then open it a quarter turn prior to turning on the suction, otherwise it never creates a suction. After creating a suction, you can see bubbles comming out of your meat. And when the time is up if you used the correct amount of marinade, there will be none left, almost like injecting the meat. Also when you remove the meat you will notice it is plumped up, and after cooking it will be much jucier than usual.

This is a fun kitchen/BBQ tool, and your meals will go to a whole new dimention. enjoy

5 out of 5 stars Met and exceeded expectations!   September 6, 2007

I read all of the reviews for this and similar products on multiple sites. After a while, I couldn't deal with reading anymore and I felt like a majority of the reviews were pointing to the Marivac. Even though it was expensive and I thought there might be some pumped up reviews from company employees, I ordered and received the Marivac in less than 3-4 days. My friends and family rented a beach house for two weeks, and I prepared several dishes that everyone really liked. I still can't believe how quickly the marinade pierces the meat. I even did a buttermilk marinade for some fried chicken, and the pieces of chicken were swollen borderline ready to burst after 15 minutes in the thing. And there was ZERO marinade left in the tub, all of it had been absorbed in to the chicken. 5 stars for sure, if you can afford the machine.

4 out of 5 stars Expensive - look at alternatives   September 3, 2007

Having had a couple of the first home marinating units (Minute Marinizer) and a few years ago having a discussion at the local butcher's over the advantages of tumbling units, I bought the much less expensive AGS countertop marinizer. It has deeper vanes on the inside for tumbling, and is a manual unit. It was just as well built. I was given a reveo for helping out a friend. Both seem to do the same job - but the AGS cost me $70 each. Thane also has a manual unit that I saw on TV for $60. It works, but there are cheaper alternatives. In any case - I can't live without a tumbling unit now for meats. I still keep the Minute Marinizer (non-tumbling) for softer fish that seem to sometimes come apart in the tumbler.

5 out of 5 stars Very impressed with this gadget   September 1, 2007
My wife was skeptical when this kitchen gadget arrived and told me to return it, but I convinced her we should try it. In short, we are amazed. We tried it on two NY strip steaks from Safeway. This cut tends to be a bit chewy, but this device made them taste like the quality you would get at a premium steak restaurant - excellent. We also tried it on chicken and were even more amazed. I usually dry out chicken on the grill, but this gadget makes it taste so good it dissapears from the dinner table. I highly recommend this product.
