Works Great August 16, 2007
We did a lot of research on blenders before buying. As a result we selected the Braun PowerMax for best bang for the buck. We are very pleased. It handles ice with no problems (great Margaritas).

Braun Blender August 11, 2007
I purchased the Braun Blender from the internet because it was the Best Buy pick from Consumer Reports. My old Oster blender finally gave out after about 40 years! I have not had it very long to give it a credible review; however, I am disappointed with the plastic piece on the bottom of the blender which is sure to wear out. I hope you will consider manufacturing a steel part and replacing them to all purchasers. After reading other reviews. I see other consumers have had problems with this same part. I am very happy with the way it works but am considering requesting this part BEFORE it breaks. What do you suggest?

The blender works fine so far. It makes good drinks and has a good size capacity - much better than our old blender!

Pretty good for the price August 9, 2007
I was impressed by this effective blender. Before, I'd been using a $30 Black & Decker. By comparison, the Braun is much faster and more thorough in blending and is quieter, too.

Others have said the plastic teeth break off easily. I have not had that problem yet, but I do worry about it. One poster on this forum said you can get replacement teeth easily just by calling and giving your address. I tried to get one just to have it as a spare, but they asked me a lot of questions and then refused to send me one since mine had not broken yet. If and when it does break, I can only guess whether they'll send me a replacement and how long it will take.

But for now, I'm happy with this product.

***update***

I posted the above comments too soon. Having now owned this blender for 6 weeks tops, the plastic teeth have started to break off. I called the costomer service dept. to request replacement. After a few minutes, they told me they would send me one "as a one-time goodwill gesture." If this only lasts me another 6 weeks and they refuse to send me any more, then $40 is not such a bargain.

The blender is great when it works, but it is not built to last.
