5 out of 5 stars Perfect Pot   January 10, 2006
2 out of 2 found this review helpful

I have owned this pot for about 7 years. I have heard folks wondering about its longevity - its lasts. To clean, just knock the leaves out of the basket, rinse lightly, and toss everything in the dishwasher. Easy. I use it about 2x/wk with any loose tea or bags. Large loose leaves filter fine if you use a spoon to stir them around while you pour the hot water in. I use a hotpad below and a cozy on top and it stays hot for 2-3 hours. The first year I bought this I was so happy I bought one for many people on my Xmas list and they are just as thrilled as me. Youll be happy too.

This tea press is great! Simple and easy to clean. Makes a quick hot or cold tea. Would recommend this product to anyone who drinks a lot of tea.

5 out of 5 stars Finally!!!   August 23, 2005

I have several tea presses, but that one is the best so far. Excellent design, craftsmanship and materials makes it a perfect choice. It's easy to clean and it holds the temperature pretty good (for a glass pot, of course).

3 out of 5 stars Teapress OK but perfectible   April 4, 2005
3 out of 4 found this review helpful

Just got my 1 litre teapress. Did not come with a pad like all Bodum coffee presses; that's disappointing, and sorely missed. I don't find the user-friendliness quite optimal... The press is okay, sort of, but I would just as well like to have the option of another cover to go and serve the tea without that whole column apparatus flip-flopping around the pot's opening, into which the tea press does not fit snugly. Cleaning it is also somewhat of a clumsy affair. I have used loose herbal concoctions and not had the press's holes clog up so far, as a previous reviewer alluded to, but I'll be trying finely cut Russian Kousmichoff tea soon, and will keep my fingers crossed. Finally, while the coffee presses have metal filters and spring-loaded O-rings, the tea press has a silicone O-ring seal and I have my doubts as to its longevity. Voilą! Bonne chance...
