5 out of 5 stars Quick and easy!   April 12, 2007

Set this baby up, turned it on, hit the button, and we're grillin. We cooked several kinds of fish plus corn on the cobb and it all turned out perfect after using their little cooking guide. Was extremely easy to clean and store away.

Only ran into a few problems. The box did not indicate what kind of propane tank it needed so we just grabbed a stack of 17 ounce cans. This size does not fit and is not recommended in the directions. Rather the 14 ounce size was needed but the store had these in a separated section from the grills.

Also, on a sunny day, I could not tell that the flame was on. I could hear it ignite and see the heat rising but assumed it was not lit because I got a wiff of propane. After turning off and waiting a few minutes and trying again, I was only able to see the flames with the lid half closed.

Other then that, I really can't complain about this great little, convenient griller. Has a great cast iron grill and easy folding 'wings' for setting plates and such. Although, the portable stand we got (sold separate) looks flimsy, it was quite stable with the grill on it and the grill itself is built solid (opens easy, closes completely, etc).

I highly recommend this compact, portable griller.

4 out of 5 stars Great Grill for RVers   April 10, 2007
1 out of 1 found this review helpful

We are full time RVers and avid Food Channel enthusiasts. We were very concerned about performance, space, ease of setup and cleanup. This grill is not as small as some, and doesn't have the performance of others, but gives us a lot of bang for the buck (and cubic inch). It also cools down quickly after use. By the time you eat and clean up, it can be placed back into the cargo compartment. While I am not in love with the type of propane tank the grill uses, you can find them anywhere and they are cheap. We also purchased the grill cover and the stainless steel tool set. It would also be great for an apartment with a small patio. I would purchase it again.

5 out of 5 stars Great for RVing/Camping   April 2, 2007

We love our grill!! My husband and I RV with a group of people/friends, and one of our fellow RVers had the smaller Weber Q grill and loved it. My husband researched whether we should get the smaller one or this larger one (we have a 5th wheel RV so storage space must be considered). We opted for the Q200 because of the larger grilling area. Also, my husband took the side trays off because they were really in the way especially for storage (don't close or lay flat) and he doesn't really need them since he sets the grill on a table top anyway. They came off easily and you can't even tell they were there.

1 out of 5 stars 12000 BTUs is too few   March 23, 2007

I had been grilling every week, winter and summer, for over fifteen years when I bought my Weber Q grill. Its burner is too small to heat sufficiently, especially when it is cold outside. At only 12,000 BTUs it cannot generate enough heat to get the cover even moderately warm and consequently, it does not grill well. It is too large to be truly portable, in the way of tent camping. And the side shelves are too weak to hold a plate of hamburgers without bending precariously.

5 out of 5 stars Super portable propane grill   March 20, 2007
4 out of 4 found this review helpful

I had been looking for a propane grill for several years but the majority were just too big or were built flimsily. I came upon the Weber Q 200 in a local hardware store that was exactly what I wanted, portable and sturdy. The only drawback was it was designed to be used with a small propane cannister (30-40 min. of use). I found out from the salesman that an adapter hose could be bought so that the grill could be connected to a 20 lb. tank. Obviously the 20 lb. tank cuts down on the portability, but I only intended to use the grill at home.
I love this grill, especially for pork chops and salmon. I waited 7 mo. before writing this review to make sure my initial satisfaction would hold up. I cook with it approx. twice a week and I still have not needed to refill my 20 lb. tank. I went to Amazon's website to read other reviews and the majority were extremely positive. Amazon's price was $25 cheaper than the hardware store and Amazon offered free shipping. What a deal! I also purchased the adapter hose from Amazon. So far the push button igniter has worked everytime but generally many "pushes" are required. As many people have stated in their reviews, you must preheat the grill for 10 min. before cooking. If you do this, I think you will be satisfied with the results of this grill. (Disclaimer: I never owned a propane grill before the Weber.)
