4 out of 5 stars Great Portable Grill   April 16, 2004
9 out of 9 found this review helpful

This is a very well made and durable grill. I bought it from a local hardware store after reading other reviews about shipping damage. It is quite heavy for a portable grill. Don't plan on carrying it long distances from the car unless you have someone else there to help you. The only complaint I have about it so far is that it can be difficult to light under windy conditions. The electric starter won't light the flame if the wind is blowing so bring a lighter or matches with you, just in case. Other than that, we are very happy with the Q. We use it at the park and at home all the time.

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic Grill   April 8, 2004

I just purchased this grill a few weeks ago and have only used it twice so far. I broke it in at a tailgate party and it was a hit!! Everyone just loved it. I had no problem with uneven heating and the side tables are a wonderful addition. I think i fit about 11 burgers on there at once. We cooked for about 15 people twice that day and didnt even finish off one of the portable propane bottles.
I also purchased the rolling duffle bag to help with carrying it to the car and double as a cover. If i lived in a house i would've just got the cover. It also cooked the food pretty fast, no waiting forever for it to heat up and with it having such a huge cooking surface all of us were able to eat together. This is a great grill and a must have!

5 out of 5 stars Weber Q One of the Greatest Grills ever   March 21, 2004

This is a compact, yet efficient grill. We took this grill on the road with us to Mexico and it is great. Not only is it small, but it cooks ALOT of food and evenly. I bought this because I had a apartment, and figured I would not have space for a large grill. This fit perfectly and I was even able to cook for a large party of 10 people on it. YES it is expensive, but it is the best frill for its size and cooking ability on the market. I love my Weber Q and felt bad leaving it with my brother in law down in Mexico, so I ended up buying another one... it is really a great grill.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent portable gas grill   February 24, 2004

I will make my review short since so many before me have detailed all the attributes of this wonderfully portable gas grill.

This is one fantastic grill considering its' purpose in life. We take this grill everywhere, kids ball games for tailgating, camping, plus we use it more now than we use our charcoal grill when grilling at home. You can cook alot of food on the grate and that is usually what's lacking in other portable grills...grilling capacity.

But one thing to keep in mind when hauling the grill after you've used it...empty the grease catch pan before you put it in your vehicle! We learned this lesson the hard way and our Suburban smelled like brats for 2 weeks after the spill!!

Absolutely the best portable gas grill on the market today.

5 out of 5 stars This is a GREAT little barbeque BUT...   February 1, 2004

This is a fantastic little barbeque for someone who doesn't have a lot of space in their yard or needs the portability. I usually don't like to BBQ all that much but ever since I got this little baby I use it a LOT.

HOWEVER - note that the gas canister does not fit in the included holder for the bbq - someone in the design unit screwed up and made the cylinder holder too small and after going to a commercial bbq store they told me that I had to take it off in order to use the standard gas canisters.

The other thing is, DON'T ORDER FROM AMAZON.COM or any other mail order company. I had to have this shipped twice - the first one arrived with a cracked handle and I had a second one sent, and it was damaged even more badly than the first one so I had to send it back - and decided to live with the busted handle. Weber did not design this item to be shipped - the cast iron grill gets tossed around inside the bbq and in the process damages the rest of the unit. As much as I love amazon.com, this item is one thing that they should not be shipping until the packaging is improved.
