Backyard grilling, with some tailgating. September 11, 2007

Update after 6 months of use.
Still very satisfied. It did have a starting/going out problem. I gave the cast iron plates and bottom section a thorough cleaning with a Citrus based cleaner I purchased at Lowes. The burners were also clogged. I cleaned them with map pins. They were the perfect size to fit through the burner holes. Punched them through each clogged hole.

I purchased this grill after reading the excellent review in Consumer Reports. Used four times. Used for chicken drumsticks, chicken breast, hot dogs, and finally, two 4 pound whole chickens (on Weber roasting rack which cleans easily by hand). Food cooks evenly, very quickly, and meat is well seared, and tastes moister and much better, than oven cooked chicken. The two whole chickens took about 90 minutes. Thick sliced onions taste great. One disadvantage of the roasting rack is that the meat does not contact the cast iron grates, and the searing effect is lost.

Portable tank empties quickly. My grill is now connected to a 20 lb tank. Portable blue 14.1 ounce tanks cost four times as much ($60 for 20 pounds). Ignites immediately. Would definitely recommend this grill, or the Q220. I followed Weber directions carefully after connecting the 20 lb tank. Heats up immediately with no problems. Directions: Open grill top. With grill burner on off, turn on tank slowly, a quarter turn at a time. Faster may trip safety. Wait another 30-60 seconds. Turn burner to start/high. Hit ignite button. On shutdown, turn tank off first. Then turn off grill burner. I also purchased the stationary cart. See my review.

Second point. I would probably pay the few dollars extra for the Q220. I didn't know about the Q220. My understanding is that it has a larger dome, which allows grilling of larger items which won't fit in the Q200 dome. Retail stores don't properly display these grills/carts, and you just don't know what's available. See my cart review, which ties both items together.

I love this grill!

Seriously. This is one excellent grill. I've cooked up some of the best food that I have ever eaten! I've cooked steaks, pork chops, burgers, and brats. All of it turned out fantastic.

The food cooks evenly, there are no flare ups, and it cooks it perfectly in a very short period of time. The grilling guide that comes with the grill is accurate. Food cooks in the exact time that is specified.

I liked it so much that I bought all of the accessories to go with it. The cart, the cover, the tool set, and the hose adapter for a standard propane tank.

I'm trying real hard to be objective and try to come up with some negative things to say about it. That's hard! The only problem I had with it is some of the holes on the burner tube got clogged and the flame didn't go around all of the tube (only about halfway). I just used a paper clip clean out some of the holes. Problem fixed.

This is an outstanding grill that I would recommend to anyone who wants to cook up some delicious food!

My husband loves this grill. It replaces a cheap, portable version (different brand) and the cooking difference is noticeable! Food cooks quickly and more evenly with less effort. There is ample cooking space for family BBQ's. Its design is simple with functional trays on either side.

The grill is heavy, but can be easily transported with the Webber Rolling cart.

We had a Weber grill in the past, and it gave us solid performance for many years. Hopefully, this will too.

Great little barbecue that doesn't know it's little July 31, 2007
I use it on my deck most of the time, but it's easy to haul to the beach or elsewhere as well. Grills evenly and easy to clean.

Best Grill Available!!! July 17, 2007
I was looking for a smaller unit because I don't need a large grill right now. This Weber has shown the difference in the quality of cooking compared to anything else I have used. I have cooked on other large and small grills, but have never seen the flame control related to flare-ups that I have found here. Buy this if you want the best!!!
