3 out of 5 stars A New Earth   October 9, 2008
I felt it was difficult to read. Too many words to really understand the meaning. But going to continue to work my way thru it. I enjoy ordering from Amazon but recieved a shipment yesterday and was shocked at one of the books I ordered. I had NO idea that a book I paid over $30+ for did not have any story line on Prince..........its mostly a coffee table book with pictures and not what I had expected at all. Very disapointed.

5 out of 5 stars Tolle's Masterpiece   October 9, 2008

I can't recall reading a book that has had as huge an impact on my life as 'A New Earth'. Tolle has explained how we can reclaim control over our lives by understanding that most of us function under the control of our ego, which has an agenda of its own. Once we realize that's not who we are, everything changes.
This is the best non-fiction book I've ever read. I recommend it to everyone; no exceptions.

1 out of 5 stars Unenjoyable rehash   October 8, 2008

There is nothing in this book that a person seeking to better themself doesn't already know. I'm shocked at how many 5-star ratings this book has received.

Tolle rehashes, repeats, and rephrases over, and over, and over. The main points of the book could have been presented in half the pages.

5 out of 5 stars Meditator - for Eckhart!!!   October 8, 2008
1 out of 2 found this review helpful

This book holds all the necessary pointers that can lead to bliss in the moment. Nomatter what circumstance you are in - there can be peace and bliss. I have been studying meditation for the last 1 and 1/2 years in Thailand and have had the good fortune to meet 3 people who I consider to be enlightened. I have never met Eckhart Tolle but I can tell from his teaching that he is the real deal. His words have helped me make stay in the moment and remain as THE MOMENT - as my pure consciousness in bliss and in God even more than all the meditating and all the work I've done in Thailand and before that. It is truly the best book I have ever read. I only think that many will not fully grasp the depth of what he is talking about. If you learn anything - that is to say - concepts... then that's not it. Just always being present is it... Not having your attention soaked up into thoughts that seem so very important... or emotions that seem true and justified... I love religions myself and all they have to give to spirituality. I know that love of God can destroy the ego more quickly than almost anything... Christians have great love of God! But unfortunately - a lot of the time they get every iota of their love for God from hating other religions.
