Moist crystals of Fleur de Sel are cool-smoked over oak barrels once used to age fine Chardonnay, infusing a whisper of smoke, a hint of Chardonnay, and a soft saltiness that's superb with mild Asian greens. Combine with green garlic and a pinch of red pepper flakes to season baby bok choy, or sprinkle over wilted baby leeks just before serving. Portion: 5.5 oz.

This smoked salt has a very delicate flavor that I think works best on chicken and fish. We tried it on steaks and it was very good, but I think some of the flavor of the salt was lost in the strong flavor of the steak.

I bought this as a gift for my Dad, but I insisted on trying it after he opened it. It has a wonderful smokey flavor that you can't miss. And the smokey flavor pairs very nicely with the fleur de sel. I haven't tried other smoked salts, so I can't compare, but I really loved this product and thought it had a well-balanced flavor. It would be great with eggs, salads, grilled fish and meats.

I found this product inferior. I try smoked salts at some of the best restaurants in the SW US and these are not up to par...ver little smoky flavor...boring. also the store will not return because it is grocery product. I would not recommend.

This is an excellent salt (wish I had known about it sooner) that ever good cook should have in his or her kitchen. I like to make my own dry rubs and this salt will be perfect for rubs for all types of meat and poultry. Also added to fresh herbs (like rosemary) and garlic with a splash of good olive oil! I just don't think you can go wrong with this salt.
