Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Port is the world's greatest fortified wine, produced in the valley of the Duoro River, East of Oporto in Northern Portugal. Port falls into two broad categories: ruby ports, characterized by intense, red fruit and berry flavors; and tawny ports, distinguished by their mellow, nutty, butterscotch and caramel essences. We have selected four cheeses that will complement both types. Cabrales, from Spain, is sharp and tangy, and even more so when made with mixed milks. Like Gorgonzola and Roquefort, it is a famous blue cheese whose name is often copied by inferior wannabees. Long known as "The King of Cheeses", Blue Stilton is one a handful of British cheeses granted the status of a "protected designation origin" (PDO) by the European Commission. Agour Ossau-Iraty: Amidst the gorgeous rolling mountains of the Pyrenees, the natural geographic border dividing France and Spain, lie vast pastures providing fertile grazing for milk-giving sheep. It is from this unpasteurized milk that the Agour company, a family company steeped in tradition, creates this magnificent cheese. Mature English Cheddar by Coombe Farm: The authentic English Cheddar produced on Coombe Farm by master cheesemaker Martyn Gosney is made from rich, local milk and aged for over 12 months in temperature controlled storage units. Coombe possesses all the great traits we've come to expect in a good cheddar - sharp, nutty and not overly dry. Each Assortment comes complete with Trudeau Cheese Serving Set: The cutting surface is made from tempered glass. A wooden drawer is contained under the top of the board with 3 compartments holding a stainless steel fork, spreader, and a long blade knife designed with holes to reduce friction. Contains 2 Lb. of cheese. Board dimensions:12"Diameter. Please note that any item temporarily out of stock will be substituted with a similar item of equal or greater value.Port not included.
